Senior School

Senior school is a thriving, stimulating environment where the girls continue to grow and develop as confident, independent individuals.  Girls are actively encouraged to learn about themselves; to find out about their particular skills, discover new talents and explore ways to achieve their full potential, whatever that may be.

This school's commitment to PHSCE (Personal, Health, Social, Citizenship and Education) closely reflects this: as part of the wider curriculum, senior girls are encouraged to be responsible for themselves and others, to strive to achieve and to make a positive contribution in all aspects of their lives.

From Year IV onwards, the girls are taught by subject specialists throughout the school.  There is an emphasis on Science, IT, Art and French, as well as commitment to high standards in English and Maths.

Secondary transfer is the focus for girls in Years V and VI; we aim to ensure that all girls gain a place at their first-choice school - whether within the independent or state sector, and have an excellent record of doing so.  Verbal and non-verbal reasoning are taught from Year V upwards.

A stimulating, broad-ranging timetable includes many extra activities such as tae-kwon-do, speech and drama, dance, tennis and gymnastics.  Individual tuition for piano, violin, flute, guitar, clarinet and saxophone is also available.

All Seniors take part in team games and as a small school, this means most girls have an opportunity to represent the PNEU in teams, something which helps them learn about team spirit, winning and losing, and one's responsibility to others.  All girls from Form III enjoy swimming lessons and the school's very successful team regularly takes part in local and regional competitions.
