The Golden Hinde

Form IV enjoyed a most amazing adventure on Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hinde.  Upon arrival the girls were divided up into 3 groups, Officers, Gunners and Barber Surgeons.  After dressing in their appropriate costumes they re-enacted battles, cut off legs and fingers (only pretending to), learnt how to navigate using original instruments and tried to imagine how life on this ship would have been like.  After eating a typical meal as eaten by sailors in the 16th Century they all changed into their pj's and settled down for the night on the gun deck.  With Big Ben chiming every hour and teachers snoring the girls woke bright and early, packed up their sleeping bags and headed home.  Tired and weary after enjoying what they described as the best trip ever!
