Vive la France!

Our first ever French Day was held on Friday 25th September 2009, to coincide with European Day of Languages. Everyone came to school dressed in red, white and blue, with added berets! The dining room and menu were given a French flavour, and the girls tucked in to croissants and pains au chocolat at break time, as well as a delicious selection of French cheeses.
French was incorporated into all lessons, and the girls took every opportunity to try out their language skills. Their confidence in speaking the language increased, and they were able to find out more about French culture. Some girls even created their own Paris fashion show!
French is taught to all year groups, from Nursery to Form VI. Languages coordinator Sallyann O’Dell was delighted with the enthusiastic participation of the whole school, and felt  that the day had been a great success.
