Reception Chicks

This term, our Reception class had the opportunity to find out which came first, the chicken or the egg. Eleven eggs were delivered by a company called Living Eggs, together with an incubator. The girls monitored the journey from egg to chick. On day four, six chicks hatched followed by two more the next day. Reception observed the different stages of the chicks' growth and recorded their findings. The girls fed, held and played with the chicks for a week before the growing chicks were taken back to live on a local farm.
