After a number of successes this year, the PNEU's swimming team has qualified for the national final of the English Schools Relay Swimming Championships in Sheffield in June. Year 6 girls from the Rickmansworth PNEU School swam to success last Friday at the Barnet Copthall pool in the Regional Primary Schools Team Championships against schools from Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and London in the Small Schools Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay events. The girls, Camilla Allibone, Fiona McQuire, Phoebe Smith, Daisy Muchmore and Rachel Vangucci smashed the school’s records in both events with each swimmer picking up personal best times. Caroline Baker, Head of PE, said “This has been a very successful year for swimming at PNEU culminating in the relay teams qualifying for the National Schools finals in Sheffield. Also PNEU swimmers will swim for Hertfordshire in the Inter–County Championships and the IAPS national finals later this month.” May 2009
