PNEU Sporting Triumphs

I often congratulate the girls on their match results in our extended assembly on a Friday morning, but it is only recently that I have seen their 'true grit' for myself.
Despite the fact that we can only field a small team in the events in which we participate, we have an astonishing degree of success. This has never been more evident than in the two swimming competitions that I have been to see in the last two weeks; star swimmers barely touched the water before climbing out at the other end of the pool to watch the competition churning their way up to the finish. We will be sorry to lose our Form VI swimmers in the summer but there are several girls in Forms IV and V who will be more than able to step into their - er - flip-flops.
On a personal note, can I just say how impressed I am by the number of our swimmers who have aced the butterfly stroke: as a combination of movements it is incredibly demanding and has always left me completely baffled…
