Charlotte House is a small, independent, girls-only prep school which is situated on a beautiful site on the border of Rickmansworth and Chorleywood. It caters for girls from Nursery to Year VI and sees successful transfer to Senior School as its fundamental goal.
Girls at Charlotte House are offered every opportunity to shine in this secure and unthreatening enviroment. Our friendly staff and happy pupils ensure a smooth transition at whichever stage children join us.
We believe that the best way to see a school is on a 'warts and all' basis and welcome prospective parents whenever they drop in to see what Charlotte House is all about.
“Charlotte House School is highly successful in providing an education for its pupils that ensures that they leave the school as confident, well-rounded girls who gain places at their senior school of choice. An outstanding foundation is given in the EYFS and the girls continue to make swift progress so that they reach good standards when they leave.” (ISI Inspection, July 2011)

Welcome to the Charlotte House website where one glance at the many photographs of our glorious girls will be enough to show you what a happy and cheery enviroment this is. Back in school for the Spring term, we are all raring to go, despite the vast quantities of mud and the dreary grey skies that this time of year seems to bring. In fact, the positive mood both inside the classroom and out is enough to make you forget the winter and feel that the long summer days are on their way.
As always, there is a lot going on this term. Form VI have been completely caught up in their auditions for 'Twelfth Night', while at the other end of the school our latest Nursery girls have thrown themselves into school life with a zest that is usually reserved for birthday parties and chocolate. The netball teams are revving up for the fray, while the Mathletes brush up their Maths skills and ready themselves for their next competition. Our four Houses have already started to eye each other up wondering who will take the House Cup at the end of term and concentration and endeavour are in the air.
Looking ahead to the end of term, we have our lovely Easter concert to look forward to, in which the staff will have butterflies and the girls will walk confidently on to the stage to do their bit like the born performers that they are. While we expect the highest possible standards academically, we revel in the girls' abilities in Drama and Music and their many gifts outside the classroom.
Show-offs at heart, we welcome visitors and would be happy to show you around this wonderful school whenever the mood takes you.
We hope to see you soon.
